With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, Tainan pomelos, cultural and creative products, and agricultural specialties are arriving in Taipei for a limited-time showcase. The Tainan City Government has partnered with Far Eastern Department Stores to hold the “Tainan Pomelo Season × c!ty'super Now on Sale” event at Far Eastern Department Store Xinyi A13 in Taipei from September 4 to 6. Tainan pomelos are also being launched at c!ty'super fresh food supermarkets across Taiwan, making it easier for Taipei consumers to purchase premium products delivered directly from the place of origin.

Mayor Huang Wei-Che stated that this event brings together multiple city government departments, including the Agriculture Bureau, Tourism and Travel Bureau, Cultural Affairs Bureau, and Economic Development Bureau, while also inviting local businesses to participate. The event marks the official launch of Tainan Pomelo Season and brings Tainan’s premium agricultural and fishery products, as well as cultural and creative products, to Taipei.
In addition to carefully selected seasonal pomelos and a variety of fresh fruits, the event also features egg rolls, honey, dried fruits, meat jerky, milkfish balls, cultural and creative products, and distinctive Tainan travel experiences.
During the event, “Mr. Fish Head,” the mascot of the Tourism and Travel Bureau, along with “Cai-Qi Duck” and “Ye-Qi Duck,” mascots of the Market Administration Office under the Economic Development Bureau, appeared as large character figures to interact with visitors. The Cultural Affairs Bureau also displayed its “Alley Niau” character merchandise, allowing visitors to discover Tainan’s diverse agricultural, cultural, and historic character through the charm of these local mascots.

Feng Hsiang-Yung, Director of the Tainan City Government Agriculture Bureau, said that Tainan’s pomelo cultivation area reaches 1,080 hectares, accounting for approximately 28% of Taiwan’s total, making Tainan the country’s largest production area.
Tainan pomelos are popular among consumers for their full shape, delicate flesh, rich aroma, and balanced sweet-and-tart flavor, making them a popular choice for enjoying during Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations.

Yang Hung-Yi, General Manager of the Tainan Agricultural Products Marketing Corporation, explained that through cooperation with premium supermarket c!ty'super, consumers can now purchase certified Tainan pomelos at all eight c!ty'super locations across Taiwan.

Chen Yu-Jen, Vice President of Far Eastern Department Stores, said the press event also incorporated a charitable initiative. With the Tainan City Government serving as witness, Far Eastern Department Store Xinyi A13 donated a batch of Tainan agricultural specialty products to the Taipei Youth Corner of the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families.
Through cooperation among businesses, charitable organizations, and government agencies, the event transformed the flavor of Tainan pomelos into a gesture of warmth and shared the city’s agricultural products with more families in need.
For this event, the Tainan City Government brought together local farmers and businesses to present a curated selection of agricultural products and cultural and creative goods.
Featured products include the Tainan City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau’s “Fucheng Divine Selection” series, including limited-edition Chenggong potato chips, Chenggong beer products, and Alley Niau merchandise; jade-carved fruit sculptures, decorative pieces, and accessories from Hsi-Yu Workshop; fresh dried fruits and whole fruit and vegetable crisps from Duo Li Duo Natural Dried Fruits; handmade thick egg rolls from Guo Ye; pomelo essential oil lotion and tea tree essential oil cleansing products from Xipu Tea Tree Farm; and natural honey, pollen, honey-pollen lollipops, spicy flower powder, dried longan, and dried mango from Mi Zhi Guan Shengli Beekeeping.
Other featured products include fresh duck eggs, century eggs, salted eggs, and egg-roll gift sets from Lin Sang Duck Eggs; pomelos, pomelo tea jam, and pomelo ginseng from Tainan Ching; pomelo gift boxes and guavas from Xinhua Fruit and Vegetable Market; finger cream puffs and cheesecake products from Rive Finger Puffs; milkfish products from Wu Family Milkfish; pork floss and meat jerky from Chen Tai Hsing Foods; ready-to-eat seafood products from Yuan Chi Aquatic Products; pork jerky, pork floss, and ready-to-eat seafood from He Kou Wei Meat Products; honey, pollen, and handmade soap from Xinnan Apiary; handmade candies and pastries from Yi Ho Hang; and dried fruits from Yujing Gate.
Through direct-from-origin distribution and joint promotion with local businesses, consumers in northern Taiwan can not only purchase fresh and high-quality Tainan agricultural specialty products, but also experience the city’s rich and diverse flavors all in one place.
