Shop for Taichung’s most authentic local gifts all in one place! Jointly organized by the Taichung Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee, the Taichung Souvenir Association, and Far Eastern Department Stores, the “2026 Taichung Good Gifts Product Fair” made its debut at Top City Taichung on July 16 and will run through July 29, bringing fresh momentum to the summer shopping season.

The event features everything from popular pastries and skillfully prepared local specialties to distinctive beverages and aesthetically designed cultural and lifestyle products. The fair highlights Father’s Day promotions and early-bird Mid-Autumn Festival offers, along with a “Surprise Lucky Draw with Qualifying Purchase” and a series of hands-on workshops, inviting visitors from across Taiwan to discover distinctive Taichung gifts during the summer holiday.

On the opening day, Chen Hsueh-Sheng, Secretary-General of the Taichung Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee, accompanied Deputy Mayor Cheng Chao-Hsin and other guests on a tour of the exhibition booths, where they sampled featured local foods.

Cheng stated that the fair brings together 32 leading brands recognized with the Taichung Top 10 Souvenirs and Taichung Good Gifts labels, allowing visitors to experience the best of Taichung in one place without having to travel throughout the city.

The participating brands represent some of the finest selections in the local market. Whether preserving century-old pastry-making traditions, developing innovative products with local ingredients, or creating design-oriented goods that combine lifestyle aesthetics with sustainability concepts, the exhibitors fully demonstrate the diversity and distinctive vitality of Taichung’s industries.

Chen Hsueh-Sheng said that the committee has continued to assist quality local brands in expanding distribution channels and strengthening brand visibility in recent years. This marks its first collaboration with the Far Eastern Department Stores group, bringing distinctive local souvenirs directly into a premium department store environment.

The initiative not only gives participating businesses more opportunities to reach consumers and corporate buyers, but also aims to help brands secure an early position in the seasonal gift market by taking advantage of peak summer vacation traffic and demand for Father’s Day and Mid-Autumn Festival gifts.

Chen emphasized that the committee continues to follow its promotional strategy of “Going Beyond Taichung and Deepening Market Presence Across Taiwan”, leading quality brands to participate in major exhibitions and sales events throughout the country and positioning “Taichung Good Gifts” as a preferred choice for both gifting and personal enjoyment.

Wang Hsiao-Wei, Chairperson of the Taichung Souvenir Association, noted that “Taichung Good Gifts” are more than souvenirs; they are also powerful ambassadors for the city’s image and local values.

She thanked the Taichung Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee for organizing the fair and expressed hope that the department store platform would allow more consumers to discover local brands at close range, experience the craftsmanship and appeal behind their products, and create more opportunities for local businesses to collaborate and expand into new markets.

Wang added that the association will continue integrating diversified channels such as department store pop-up events to help members strengthen their brand competitiveness and showcase the industry’s continuous momentum for innovation.

Chen Yu-Jen, Vice President of Merchandise Division II at Far Eastern Department Stores, said the department store hopes to serve as a bridge between local brands and consumers. In addition to enjoying convenient shopping, visitors can also gain a deeper understanding of the stories behind Taichung brands, helping stimulate the local economy and strengthen the city’s consumer vitality.

Far Eastern Department Stores will also work with the city government and participating businesses to send the “Good Gifts Express” from Taichung to Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hualien, and other cities, using department store channels to introduce Taichung brands to consumers across Taiwan.

The fair features an impressive lineup of 32 representative brands, including Chen Yun Pao Chuan, which carries on a century-old pastry tradition; Travel Bakery, popular among younger consumers; Master A-Jing’s Cuisine, which showcases Taiwanese culinary culture; as well as Shibazi Meat, Peng Pei Black & White Fungus Drinks, Smile Angel Bakery, and other recent first-prize winners of the Taichung Top 10 Souvenirs awards.

Other popular local brands include Chen Shih-Cheng Meat Shop, Hope Mung Bean Soup, Spicy Bean Bro, PINTURE Vinegar, and Moose Poet. Lifestyle and cultural brands such as sNug and Wooden Pen House are also participating. The exhibition spans everything from classic Taichung flavors to practical, design-oriented products, fully presenting the diverse specialties and artisan stories of Taichung’s mountain, coastal, suburban, and urban districts.

To thank consumers for their support, the event is offering a series of special promotions. The “Surprise Lucky Draw with Qualifying Purchase” gives customers who meet the spending requirement a chance to enter a prize draw, with 30 gifts available each day. Lucky visitors may take home selected gifts free of charge.

In addition, several stage-exclusive interactive activities have been arranged for the exhibition weekends, including the educational “Old Socks, New Life” parent-child workshop, the aesthetically inspired hand-painted tung blossom soap workshop, and refined afternoon tea tasting experiences.

While shopping for Father’s Day and Mid-Autumn Festival gifts, visitors can also take part in hands-on activities and experience the creativity, warmth, and lifestyle aesthetics behind quality local brands.

The “2026 Taichung Good Gifts Product Fair” will be held through July 29 in front of the Customer Service Center on the 10th floor of the South Building at Top City Taichung. The Taichung Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee warmly invites visitors from across Taiwan to take advantage of this limited-time summer event and experience Taichung’s craftsmanship and urban charm through both sight and taste.

Guests attending the opening event included Huang Li-Jung, Section Chief of the Economic Development Bureau; Wu Tsung-Lin, Section Chief of the Tourism and Travel Bureau; Lan Cho-Cheng, Store Manager of Far Eastern Department Stores Taichung; Huang Yu-Chia, Chief of Laiwang Village in the North District; and Su Kuan-Lin, Secretary-General of the Taichung Hot Spring Tourism Association.

Representatives of Legislative Yuan Vice President Johnny Chiang, Legislator Yang Chiung-Ying, and Taichung City Councilor Lin Pei-Han also attended to offer their congratulations.
