Souvenirs are not only a way to share delicious flavors, but also one of the best representations of a city’s culture and local warmth. Starting today, May 23, the Taichung Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee is joining forces with 25 well-known Taichung souvenir brands for a two-day pop-up market at the Nantou Service Area on National Freeway No. 3, allowing travelers heading north or south to shop for Taichung’s Top 10 Souvenirs all in one place.
Wang Wen-Hsing, Deputy Secretary-General of the Taichung Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee, said that in order to promote quality local products, the committee partnered with Hsin Tung Yang Co., Ltd., the Freeway Bureau, and the Taichung Souvenir Association to help local businesses expand beyond Taichung.
By making use of the high visitor traffic at the Nantou Service Area, the committee organized the Taichung Top 10 Souvenirs Pop-Up Market, demonstrating the city government’s determination to help local businesses expand their markets. Through the exhibition and sales event, the organizers hope to increase the nationwide visibility of Taichung souvenir brands, expand sales channels beyond traditional holiday seasons, attract more visitors to travel and spend in Taichung, and allow them to bring home a taste of the city’s happiness.
Wang Wen-Hsing added that Taichung’s souvenirs are highly creative, combining traditional flavors with modern innovation. This event brings together 25 distinctive brands, including award-winning Li Tea, Babuu Workshop, Bear Cookies, Uncle Bing Grilled Corn, Peng Pei Black & White Fungus Drinks, Chuan Coffee, Tea Realm Angel, Smile Angel Bakery, Piggy Girl, Flair Workshop for the Visually Impaired, Ta Ja Noodle, and many others.
Products range from refined pastries and specialty beverages to flavorful snacks, offering something for every visitor. The organizers hope travelers passing through the Nantou Service Area will stop by the market and experience the unique charm of Taichung’s food culture through its flavors.
